Barboursville WV – The Barboursville Fall Fest which takes over the village each September seemed much like the Osmond’s song, “A little bit country, and a little bit rock and roll.”
This year’s festival offered the same big carnival down in saddler field. Where kids and adults alike were found on the ferris wheel, crocodile express, and popping balloons for big teddy bears. Vendor rows were full to the far ends of Main Street. The sounds of the main stage could be heard throughout the festival as some big names rolled through town.
Mayor Chris Tatum offered the line on Saturday night that this was clearly the “Best fall fest to date”. The Mayor along with the village staff, public works department, volunteers, and MPE Entertainment worked to bring the festival to life starting setup on Wednesday.
Friday’s entertainment brought country newcomer Chelsea Bain through #betterbville to open for country superstar Keith Anderson. You know Keith for his songs,”I Still Miss You”, “XXL (Double XL)”, “Pickin Wildflowers”, “Everytime I Hear Your Name”, “Podunk”, and many more. He has also penned mega hits for other artists including, “Lost In This Moment” which went #1 for duo Big & Rich. Anderson said that he “loves playing for the tight knit family festivals”. That is definitely what you get when you come to the Barboursville Fall Fest. Families and friends out celebrating life and having a great time.
Saturday’s lineup featured local group Duncan from Huntington opening for several classic rock legends performing as The Classic Rock Allstars. The Allstars comprised of members of Alice Cooper, Iron Butterfly, Blues, Image, The Miracles, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, and Wings with special guest Denny Laine of The Moody Blues and Wings.
Mike Pinera of Blues Image and Iron Butterfly with hits like In-A-Garda-Da-Vida and Ride Captain Ride, said of Barboursville and West Virginia that, “Everyone here is just so nice, we really enjoy meeting the people here.”
Pictures from the meet and greets and the shows can be found below. Our thanks to Chelsea Bain, Keith Anderson, Ducain, The Classic Rock Allstars, and Denny Laine. A special thank you to the stage crews, staff, and volunteers that all make the festival possible. We will see you next year Barboursville!
